Chaotic and gripping, Kilian demonstrates his eye for detail in this particular illustration. At the center of the illustration, a man wearing a crown is pinned to the ground, his throat being sliced by a knife. To their left and right, we see similar pairings, with men being pinned to the ground by their enemies and threated with daggers. The foreground and background are divided by a tilted, off-balance dining table, plates and tablecloth sliding off the surface, contributing to the composition's disarray a suggesting that the conflict came unexpectedly in the middle of a dinner party. Towards the left side of the table, a man clutches a vase, preparing to smash it over the head of the man he is fighting. The illustration extends past the confines of the book, so Kilian has thoughtfully folder over the right edge of the page.
