Necessary Directions for the Prevention and Cure of the Plague in 1665
This page is located within the third section of the book, entitled “Necessary Directions for the Prevention and Cure of the Plague in 1665.” This page displays some of the attempted remedies for the cure, in particular drawing out the illness and treatment for a carbuncle. It was believed that a mixture of an egg yoke, turpentine, and other chemicals could be combined and used to extract sickness from a human being. Several different mixtures are also suggested as possible remedies for carbuncles; these include the use of vinegar, cloves of garlic, figs, leaves, salts, and other natural remedies.
