Meg Andersen
I’ve been drawing and painting the portrait for close to twenty years. Much of that time I have worked with Patrick Carter, in his Portrait Painting & Drawing class. It has been an evolution and a revelation.
Portraiture for me is an attempt to capture the human spirit, and evanescence of a life briefly paused, with my hands and artist’s materials.
It is challenging and fascinating.
At one time it was the scariest art endeavor I could imagine trying to do.
It doesn’t frighten me now.
The collaboration of the artist with the model is often alchemical and it draws me in.
