Images of MS 24
Tufts University MS 24 is categorized as a Dominican Miscellany for a number of reasons. The miscellany contains a number of writings by Thomas Aquinas, a Dominican friar, as well as two musical sequences that are often associated with the Dominican order. The first of these two sequences, which is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary -- a particularly important figure in the Dominican order -- will be the emphasis of this exhibit. Additionally, MS 24 was discovered at a Franciscan convent in Northern Italy; the Franciscan order is closely related to the Dominican order, and many writings and practices were shared between the two.
