Foxing and other Marks in the Book
Foxing is caused by temperature and humidity changes and impurities in the paper. It leaves the tan/brownish spots that can be seen in these pictures. There are many instances throughout the text where foxing has occured but none of them are so pervasive that it takes away from the text
There are also several instances in the book where certain letters have been overinked. Additionally, much of the ink has faded away and smeared over the years
The edge of the book also has red sprinkled edges, which was a common practice in the eighteenth century in order to make books look nicer.
Despite these few examples, the book is largely in excellent condition with limited damage to the paper
