Introductory Pages
Bound in an oversized leather cover, “’Musaeum Regalis Societatis’” was written in 1681 by Nehemiah Grew. Usage of the book is evident due to the cover’s torn leather and various markings on multiple pages, including the title page where an individual’s name is inscribed. The book is dedicated to Daniel Colwall Esq, one of the original fellows of the Royal Society, who is pictured on the title page that introduces the conjoined books. “Musaeum Regalis Societatis” is broken up into several parts and includes an appendix of plants, an index of potential medicines, and a list of prominent donors.
