Binding and Condition

This book has seen better days. Since it was bought by Metcalf in the late 19th or early 20th century from a bookseller, one can conjecture that it must have spent decades in circulation. It is no longer bound, as the page bindings are totally separated from eachother, while the spine is mostly gone. The pages, however, are still in good condition.
