Instructions for binding handwritten in pencil on the title page of A Guide to Health, Beauty, Riches, and Honour, by Francis Grose, Printed for Samuel Hooper (London, 1783). The note reads "Bound in calf - let the edges remain precisely as they are." Also at the top is writing in pen, most of which has been cut off; one phrase reads "Capt Grose."
