Engraving of the title-page: title in central cartouche, surmounted by John of Austria's coat-of-arms, adorned with the Order of the Golden Fleece; three horses on either side, those in the forefront tied to the cartouche by their reins; stable paraphernalia above and below the cartouche; the whole set within a rectangular frame adorned with scrollwork.

Lettered within image: title in cartouche at centre, "EQVILE / IOANNIS AVSTRIACI / CAROLI V. IMP. F. / In quo / omnis generis generosissimorum equo- / rum ex varijs orbis partibus insignis / delectus. / Ad vivum omnes delineati a celeberrimo pic- / tore Iohanne Stradano Belga Brugensi. / Et a Philippo Galleo editi."

Lettered within image: "Adrianus Collaert scalpsit."

Lettered below image: dedication, "ILL MO ET EXCELL MO D. ALPHONSO FELICI D' AVALOS ET ARAGONA, MARCHIONI DEL VASTO AC PESCARA, DVCI MONTIS D. From a series of forty three plates. The series at the British Museum is incomplete.
This print is signed by Collaert, Adriaen, (-1618), but Goltzius, Hendrik (1558-1617) and Wierix, Jeronimus (1553-1619) also worked on the series. Only a selection of plates are signed.

Engraved by Collaert, Adriaen, (-1618) and published by Galle, Philippe (1537-1612).
