Title A name given to the resource Mémoire(s) de femmes Subject The topic of the resource Une vidéo qui décrit des souvenirs des femmes déplacées Description An account of the resource Bissane Al Charif, une artiste syrienne qui a étudié en France, a produit la vidéo Mémoire de femmes pour montrer comment les réfugiés et les migrants qui quittent leur pays d’origine ont besoin de quitter leurs vies et toutes les choses qui construisent leurs idées de chez eux. Mémoire de femmes commence avec une description de la maison où une femme a habité pour dix-huit années, et elle dit que la maison était aussi dans sa famille depuis longtemps. Elle donne une description d’où chaque chambre est dans la maison et explique qu’elle a beaucoup de souvenirs dans cette maison, comme quand elle a pleuré les larmes heureuses dans le jardin grâce à ses bonnes notes pendant la troisième année d’école. Quand la femme parle, les spectateurs voient une série d’images très chaotiques. La vidéo commence avec des images plus immobiles, comme une voiture et un chien, mais quand la femme parle de ses mémoires heureuses, les spectateurs voient un avion, une voiture, une rue, et des arbres dans une tempête . Ici, il y a l’idée que les voyages pour les migrants sont difficiles, pas seulement parce qu’ils ont besoin de quitter leurs pays d’origines, mais aussi parce que le voyage lui-même peut être difficile et dangereux. Le film Harragas, qui a été réalisé par Merzak Allouache, montre la difficulté de ces voyages. Les migrants ont pris un bateau, mais quand le moteur tombe en panne, les migrants qui peuvent nager ont besoin de nager dans l’océan et essayer d’arriver à la plage d’Europe. Les migrants risqueraient tout pour l’opportunité d’arriver en Europe, et même s’ils ont des souvenirs heureux, comme la femme dans la vidéo, ils se rendent compte qu’il est nécessaire de partir. Un personnage dans le film Harragas, Imène, dit que « Si je ne pars pas, je deviendrai folle . » Il y a l’idée que les migrants, même s’ils se souviennent tendrement de quelques aspects de chez eux, reconnaissent la nécessité de partir et de risquer le voyage dangereux. De plus, souvent, le pays où les migrants vivent est corrompu, et ils ne peuvent pas trouver des travaux dans un système politique et social qui est dysfonctionnel. Par exemple, dans le livre Par le Feu, par Tahar Ben Jelloun, Mohamed est un Tunisien qui a un diplôme ne peut pas trouver un emploi à cause d’un gouvernement très corrompu. Il éventuellement se suicide pour protester contre le système. Donc, il est important aussi que les spectateurs qui voient la vidéo se rendent compte que souvent, les migrants quittent leurs pays d’origine parce que c’est une nécessité et qu’il n’est pas un choix. Pour les migrants comme Imène et Mohamed, il n’était pas un avenir dans son pays d’origine. Le film peut obtenir compassion pour les migrants parce qu’il montre les sacrifices qu’ils ont besoin de faire quand ils veulent quitter leur pays d’origine pour l’Europe. Syrienne elle-même, Charif reconnaît la difficulté de quitter le pays d’origine, même si c’est nécessaire. Dans sa vidéo, elle utilise des descriptions avec lesquelles les Européens peuvent s’identifier de montrer qu’après tous les migrants ne sont pas très différents. Les migrants décrivent leurs maisons avec des jardins, des chiens, et des autres choses qui sont aussi dans les maisons européens. La vidéo montre que les personnes dans les autres pays sont plus similaires qu’on pense, et que les Européens devraient comprendre que les migrants sont aussi des humains.
